Q: What is Positive Reinforcement?
A: Positive Reinforcement is also known as “treat training” is when you reward your dog for a specific behavior to reinforce that behavior in a positive way. For example: When a dog sits, and he gets a treat, he learns to sit more often. Positive reinforcement works even when pet owners don't suspect it. Because the reward makes them more likely to repeat the behavior, positive reinforcement is one of your most powerful tools for shaping or changing your dog's behavior in this case “shaping.”
Q: What Is Luring?
A: Luring is when you guide your dog by into a desired position/cue by holding a treat in front of their nose. The most effective way to use luring is to use the food lure to steer the dog into the wanted position/cue for the first few attempts to jumpstart the basic obedience training process.
Q: What comes after luring in regards to dog training?
A: Luring motion into a hand signal, and then add a verbal cue which will is usually taught by a dog training instructor day 1 in group and/or private sessions.
Q: Is the training complementary?
A: Yes, anything the puppy has learned or is starting to learn is complementary and not included in the purchase meaning we educate the puppies as a good gesture to help get you started. Any education mentioned is not 100% guaranteed as it’s the puppy owner’s choice to continue training with a Certified Dog Trainer of their choice. We have many colleagues available in the area for those who wish to complete their training goals.
